Why should we get our house washed?

A house wash is a good investment to aesthetically enhance the value of your property, increase its street appeal, particularly, if you’re considering selling or renting the property in the foreseeable future;

For painted properties, a wash will extend the longevity of the painted surface, maintaining its good order and, ultimately, saving you the major expense of painting the property well before time;

Yes, you can request your free house wash quote here.  We also provide fixed fee quotations, so there are no nasty surprises at invoice time. We believe in full transparency, so if there is any change in the scope of works, you will be notified and all prices will be agreed upon before proceeding.

What is actually washed on my property?

A comprehensive soft wash of your property will have it covered from the gutters to the ground. A full house wash is comprised of: gables, gutters, façade, eaves, walls, driveways, paths, windows and screens, downpipes, any hardscape that needs to be cleaned will get cleaned. This will be discussed at the time of quoting to ensure you are getting what you want. At Astute, we are the package deal kings and can add some  incredible value for money if you combine all areas or your house wash at the same time and also have protective coating applied to your hardscape. 

What won’t be washed on my property?

Anything about your house wash that isn’t in the scope or the agreed upon works to be completed. We are happy to refer you to a range of professional tradespeople such as window cleaners (inside and out), if it’s outside the Astute core business.

Will a house wash strip the paint on the surfaces of my property?

Absolutely not. All house washes are done by trained technicians using a combination of high and low soft washing techniques. We also utilise many different professional grade cleaners, mould-inhibitors and protective coatings. Previous results have proven time and time again that this procedure works best for a cost effective, high quality, long-lasting clean. 

Our pressure cleaning equipment is not utilised on such cleaning job, unless requested/required. The procedures conducted by our business are recommended by lead industry trade professionals. Simply pressure cleaning a house alone will not effectively prepare the paint’s surface, which could, unfortunately, result in a shorter life cycle of your new paint due to contaminants not effectively being removed from underneath the new coating.

Will you leave a mess at our property?

We take the utmost pride in our workmanship, and our priority in ensuring you are 100% happy with your house wash, including leaving your property in pristine condition. Prior to leaving a site, we always consult our extensive checklists in our cloud based software. This ensures that your property is left in pristine state and nothing is missed. 

Do I need to be home when you do the house wash, and to pay you?

No. Your house wash can be carried out whilst you are not home (in your absence, we connect to your mains water supply). Once we have completed our work, we send through a job report, including before and after photos, and invoice via email. 

Does water come into our property?

This is an extremely rare occurrence. In the rare event that water does flow through, we provide towels to place inside of the window sills and doors, to catch any potential overflow. We strongly recommend you take the precaution of closing all windows and doors prior to the wash.

How long can we expect the house wash to last?

Each house wash is unique. It really depends on the condition of your property’s surfaces and the location in which you live. In our experience, typically, the house wash shall remain good for 2-4 years.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. We maintain public liability insurance cover above average, which we can supply upon request. We also have current Queensland Police Service and Blue Card (working with children) checks, a general construction induction card, elevated work platforms (EWP), high risk work, scaffold.

What WHS Procedures do you use?

We utilise industry recommended procedures, with easy access to all documents and procedures through our cloud based software. Safety is one of the fundamentals of our business core values and all steps are taken to make sure we do our work in the safest way practical. 

What do I do to prepare for the house wash?

In preparation for your upcoming house wash, we ask that you help us make the job go as efficiently as possible by doing a few things around your property:

• Ensure all windows and doors are securely closed
• Remove all washing from the washing line
• Be aware that any pool and BBQ area will be closed for the duration of the clean
• Tenants cooperation is requested by ensuring all driveways and front entry paths are kept clear
• All pets are either kept indoors or are secured in a kennel at all times.

How much do you charge for house wash?

When producing a fixed fee quotation we take into account the size of the property; its height; degree of dirtiness and location. Generally, our fixed fees will range from $450 to $950+. Townhouse complexes generally being smaller dwellings, attract fees on the lower end of this range. 

We offer a exclusive 12 month workmanship warranty alongside a full manufacturers warranty (2-15 years depending on products used) on all protective coatings. We are able to offer these warranties because of frequent refresher courses, comprehensive product knowledge and the strong relationships Astute has with all major suppliers

How will your house wash warranty be honoured?

Contact the office with your concern, preferably providing a photos of the trouble spot via email or message. Once reviewed a technician will be in contact with you. They will most likely arrange a site inspection to assess the best course of action needed to rectify the situation. 

If the protective coating product is deemed to be faulty, a claim will be lodged with the particular supplier. This will generally have a 2 to 4 week turnaround.
